VPK Group announces the acquisition of Open Imballaggi, a well-established sheet plant specializing in corrugated cardboard packaging, located near Bergamo in Lombardy.
This strategic acquisition strengthens VPK Group's geographical footprint in one of Europe’s largest packaging markets. Open Imballaggi's location complements VPK's existing operations with Zetacarton and IEMME, supporting further market growth in the key industrial region around Bergamo.
Founded by the Marsetti family, Open Imballaggi traces its roots back to 1908. Today, the company operates from a modern 22,000 m² facility in Calcinate, recently enhanced by Euro 7 million in investments, including a new 6-color rotary die cutter. With an annual turnover of Euro 30 million and a production capacity of 40 million m2 of boxes, Open Imballaggi serves 700 clients. The company employs approximately 70 people.
With this expansion, VPK Group continues to build on its long-term strategy of sustainable growth with its vertically integrated business model in the paper and board packaging industry.
