U.S. kitchen cabinet sales up 5.6% in May

Cabinet manufacturers reported overall cabinet sales of were up 5.6% for May 2024 compared to the same month in 2023, according to the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA).

The total sales reported by respondents for May amounted to $253.6 thousand. Custom sales accounted for $66.9 thousand, reflecting 7.2% year-on-year increase.

Semi-custom sales also saw a growth of 6.0%, amounting to $139.9 thousand, and stock sales increased by 2.5%, reaching $46.9 thousand.

The year-to-date sales for survey participants decreased by 4.4% to $1.2 million in May 2024. Custom sales contributed $303.2 thousand, or 10.1% decline, semi-custom sales reached $656.9 thousand, down 4.3%, while stock sales amounted to $222.8 thousand, or 4.0% increase.

The estimated sales for the overall market in May were reported at $1.0 million. For the year-to-date period, the overall market estimated sales were $5.9 million.

The Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA), a longstanding representative of kitchen cabinet and bath vanity manufacturers along with key industry suppliers, has been diligently compiling and reporting industry sales data for over 40 years.
