KELAG Energie &Wärme GmbH charged URBAS Energietechnik with building a 12-MW-plant to supplement the existing ones in order to match the rising energy demand in heat. This brings up the share of renewable energy in Villach’s district heat network to 80%. Commissioning of this additional plant is planned for December 2024.
KELAG Energie &Wärme GmbH is supplying the town of Villach in Austria with sustainable heat from biomass. Two URBAS biomass boiler plants with 8 MW fuel heat output each have covered the base load so far already.
