Stark in Denmark has signed a ten-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Energi Danmark. This agreement will see Stark purchasing renewable energy from a new 122-hectare solar park in Djursland, Denmark.

This long-term agreement marks a significant milestone in Stark Group’s ongoing efforts to decarbonise its operations and achieve its climate targets. By committing to this ten-year power purchase agreement, Stark is both supporting the construction of the solar park and contributing to the increase of renewable energy in the Danish electricity grid.

The PPA ensures that Stark will purchase power from the solar park, providing a stable financial foundation for the project and securing a competitive price for renewable energy over the next decade.

NRGi Renewables is responsible for the establishment of the solar park, while Energi Danmark will manage the electricity supply. The upcoming solar park is expected to be operational by spring 2025 and will produce 132.000 MWh per year.

Stark Group is a leading business-to-business merchant and distributor of heavy building materials for the construction industry in Europe, with a strategic focus on serving professional builders from its more than 1,150 branches.
