In June 2020, Vyatsky Plywood Mill LLC of Segezha Group (part of AFK Sistema) completes the work under the investment project “Replacement of laminating press panels”. The cost of the project is over RUB 86 million.
4*8 and 5*10 feet laminating line was put into operation in 2007; to a large extent, its useful life has nearly expired. The upgrade is required to prevent the potential diminishing of film adhesion to veneer sheet surface and to maintain high quality of products produced in strict compliance with rigid specifications of the company.
The project is being implemented in the timeliest manner possible. The equipment is already fabricated, delivered and installed. Platens in the 4*8 feet press have already been replaced; the replacement of platens in the 5*10 feet press will be completed in this June.
Alexey Stepanov, Vice-President of Segezha Group, Executive Director of Vyatksy Plywood Mill said: “Upgraded equipment would allow us to continue the production of high-quality competitive plywood. The upgrade of the laminating line will result in better look of products and increased density of a laminated layer. This will allow the company not only to retain its clients but possibly to expand its client base. Keeping product specifications at a sustainably high level is particularly important, when operating on the key markets in Europe and the USA.”
Vyatsky Plywood Mill of Segezha Group, having the capacity of 192 thousand cubic meters per year, produces large-format birch plywood under Russian and international standards.
