Kemira invests in expanding the coagulant capacity in Fredrikstad in Norway to meet the growing market demand and to ensure production reliability in the Nordic region including Norway, Sweden and Finland. The scope of the investment includes the installation of a new reactor and increased storage capacity of aluminium hydroxide, which enables better planning and logistic cost savings. The new capacity will be operational towards the end of 2025.

Kemira has recently announced a multi-million euro coagulant investments in Goole, UK (November, 2023) and in Tarragona, Spain (July, 2024).

Demand for coagulants in Europe is expected to grow following tightening regulation.
