In 2021, United States’ imports of lumber expanded 5.3% year-on-year to 38.1 million m3. The value of imports soared 71.2% to $13.7 billion. Average price of lumber jumped 62.5% to $360 per m3.
According to Lesprom Analytics, Canada’s share amounted to 85.2% in the U.S. total lumber imports in 2021. Canada is United States’ biggest lumber supplier with second-ranked Germany at 5.2% of total imports, while Brazil takes 1.7% and Sweden 1.6%.
