The German Federal Cartel Office has initiated an unannounced inspection at Metsä Tissue’s mill in Kreuzau, Germany. Metsä Tissue, a subsidiary of Metsä Group, specializes in hygiene paper products and is cooperating fully with the authorities, the company said in a statement.
The inspection is part of an ongoing investigation into the hygiene paper sector. The Federal Cartel Office clarified that conducting such inspections does not imply the company is guilty of anti-competitive practices, nor does it predetermine the investigation's outcome.
