Builders FirstSource, Inc. has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Alpine Lumber Company, a Colorado-based employee-owned firm with trailing twelve-month (TTM) sales of approximately $500 million as of November 2024. The transaction, expected to close in early 2025, will be funded through existing cash and credit facilities, according to Builders FirstSource.
Alpine Lumber operates 21 locations across Colorado and northern New Mexico, supplying prefabricated trusses, wall panels, millwork, and other construction products to homebuilders and contractors. The acquisition strengthens Builders FirstSource’s footprint in its West Division and aligns with its strategy to invest in high-growth markets.
The combined entity will benefit from shared expertise and a wider range of product offerings. Alpine’s CEO, Hamid Taha, will assist in the integration during a transition period. Builders FirstSource’s CEO, Peter Jackson, highlighted the alignment of cultures and complementary business models, which are expected to yield benefits for customers, employees, and shareholders.
