International technology group Andritz has initiated a project to build a state-of-the-art service center for pulp and paper mill equipment in Três Lagoas, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil.

The center will primarily serve mills in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul and neighboring regions, offering a full range of services, including repairs, rebuilds, equipment upgrades, and maintenance. It will also serve as a manufacturing and distribution center, improving the availability of strategic parts.

The center will be built on a 30,000 m² site, with 6,000 m² used for the workshop and 6,000 m² reserved for environmental preservation. Construction will begin in December 2024, with completion scheduled for the first quarter of 2026. About 50 direct and 150 indirect jobs will be created during the construction phase. Once fully operational, the center is expected to provide more than 130 permanent jobs.

Alexandre David, Senior Vice President of Pulp and Paper Services for Latin America, said: “This investment is a significant step in our efforts to provide faster and more efficient service to our customers in the region, while supporting the local economic development. Três Lagoas has become a strategic hub for pulp production, making it the ideal location for our new service center.”
In line with Andritz’s commitment to sustainability, 20% of the site will be preserved as green space. The facility will also be equipped with photovoltaic panels for renewable energy generation and cisterns for rainwater and process water collection to support efficient use of resources.
