U.S. kitchen cabinet sales down 1.5% in August

Cabinet manufacturers reported overall cabinet sales of were down 1.5% for August 2024 compared to the same month in 2023, according to the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA).

The total sales reported by respondents for August amounted to $237.6 thousand. Custom sales accounted for $64.1 thousand, reflecting 1.2% year-on-year increase.

Semi-custom sales also saw a growth of 0.1%, amounting to $133.3 thousand, and stock sales decreased by 9.9%, reaching $40.2 thousand.

The year-to-date sales for survey participants decreased by 2.4% to $1.9 million in August  2024. Custom sales contributed $490.2 thousand, or 5.7% decline, semi-custom sales reached $1.0 million, down 1.5%, and stock sales amounted to $340.0 thousand, or 0.2% decrease.

The estimated sales for the overall market in August were reported at $1.02 million. For the year-to-date period, the overall market estimated sales were $5.94 million.
