Aalto will take over as CEO of the Sawmill Industry from the position of Special Assistant to the Minister of Transport and Communications. Previously, Aalto has worked in the Technology Industry Association, as the head of innovation policy and advising the CEO, as well as a special assistant in the Prime Minister's Office, responsible for corporate governance and in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, responsible for export promotion and trade policy. He also has a background in design and consulting at SKOL and experience in social advocacy from the consulting house Miltton.
