The Büttner Energie- und Trocknungstechnik GmbH, a company of the Siempelkamp Group, has concluded a cooperation agreement with the internationally operating Swiss supplier W. Kunz dryTec AG, also known as Swiss Combi, which complements the existing Büttner dryer portfolio.
In addition to a cooperation in sales, the agreement also includes the collaboration in process engineering, automation, assembly, and commissioning. While Büttner has been known in the dryer segment mainly for drum dryers, tube bundle dryers and flash tube dryers, Swiss Combi has been supplying belt dryers for biomass and the particleboard industry for more than 30 years.
Swiss Combi Managing Director Markus Kunz emphasizes the synergies of the partnership: „Büttner and Swiss Combi, two leading suppliers of drying solutions, combine their competences in the wood-based panel industry and will jointly offer belt dryers. In this partnership, Büttner benefits from Swiss Combi's experience in belt dryer technology with more than 200 realized belt dryers in various industries worldwide. Swiss Combi profits by the broad customer network that Büttner and the Siempelkamp Group have at their disposal. In addition, the alliance allows us to offer customized solutions of energy systems combined with belt dryers and filter systems that will be cleaner - by reducing emissions - and more efficient - by utilizing waste heat - for the benefit of our customers.“
Büttner Managing Director Andreas Klug agrees: "Through the cooperation with Mr. Kunz and his team, both we at Büttner and Swiss Combi are in a position to jointly offer complete drying solutions in belt dryers and the related process heat generation. This integrated solution from one source has been appreciated by our customers for quite some time and they increasingly decide in favor of a drum or flash tube dryer including an energy system from Büttner".
Carsten Otto, Head of Sales at Büttner, adds: "Büttner has already presented the extended product range including the belt dryer at LIGNA 2023 in Hanover, which enables us to advise the customers fully independent of the system and offer tailor-made solutions. No matter, whether it is "just" a dryer or whether we are planning the entire plant. First and foremost, we take into account our customer's wishes, as well as his raw materials as well as the available media, energy flows and fuels. Based on this, we develop the economical and efficient package consisting of energy generation, residual heat utilization, drying equipment and, if necessary, environmental technology. With Swiss Combi, we have a competent partner at our side."
In conclusion, Andreas Klug sees only advantages for both partners: "Two companies with decades of experience in their respective specialties are now working together - this will be a success story for both companies." On the Büttner side, Jörg Melin was named Product Manager for the belt dryers.
