Peru’s imports of composite panels (particleboard and MDF) totalled $103.2 million in 2018 an increase of 19% year-on-year, as ITTO reported.
Shipments from Ecuador were valued at $40 million up 22% year-on-year. Imports from Chile were worth $31 million and this represented a rise of 12% year-on-year.
While imports of composite panels from Brazil were only worth $16 million there was a massive increase in 2018 shipments surging 46% compared to a year earlier. For the first time shipments from Brazil surpassed those from Spain (2018, $15.5 million).
