On 1 January 2024, Marco Schweizer will assume the operational management of the international family business Lamello. He succeeds Susanne Affolter, who will continue to chair the Board of Directors and help shape the strategic direction of this long-established company.

Marco Schweizer was Managing Director of FrymaKoruma from 2020 to 2023. Marco Schweizer started his career in 1998 as a designer at the premium supplier for machines and process systems FrymaKoruma, where he accumulated expertise in manufacturing processes, process flows and the associated challenges in the international mechanical engineering industry over 25 years. His broad range of competencies include roles as project manager, head of engineering and development, product manager, head of customer service and managing director at FrymaKoruma AG in Rheinfelden, Switzerland. He was also the managing director of ProXES Technology GmbH in Neuenburg, Germany.

Susanne Affolter will step down from her role as managing director of the Lamello Group on 31 December 2023. The granddaughter of the inventor completed her apprenticeship at the family business and took on the responsibility for human ressources in the 1990s.

The family business Lamello is a leading manufacturer of joining systems for woodworking companies, based in Bubendorf, Switzerland.
