Savon Voima and Keitele Energy have signed an agreement for the supply of heat. In cooperation, the heat produced at Keitele Timber's sawmill is transferred to Savo Voima's Keitele municipality's district heating network The agreement to be concluded now will continue until 2030.
Keitele Energy's thermal center produces about 8,000 MWH of energy for the district heating network every year, which means the energy consumption of about 400 detached houses. The goal is that it covers more than 97 percent of the heat needs of the entire Keitele district heating network.
Keitele Group produces lumber and wood products mainly for the construction industry and manufacturing of furniture, doors, windows, etc.
