The latest results from Freddie Mac's Primary Mortgage Market Survey reveal that the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage (FRM) averaged 6.85% as of December 26, 2024, up from 6.72% last week. This marks the second straight week of increases and a rise from 6.61% recorded a year ago at this time. The 15-year FRM also experienced an increase, averaging 6.0%, compared to last week’s 5.92% and last year’s 5.93%, according to Freddie Mac's report.
