U.S. containerboard production in February increased 10% compared to February 2019. It was up 7% when compared to the same two months of 2019, as the American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) reported.
February 2020 production of containerboard for export increased 55% compared to the same month last year; it was up 46% year-to-date.
The containerboard operating rate was 93.4%, up 3.1 points from February 2019 and up 3 points year-to-date.
Mill inventories of containerboard at the end of February increased 29,000 short tons from the previous month, and were up 44,000 short tons compared to February 2019.
