Sveaskog opens a new nursery and CEO Per Matses and deputy site manager Hans Tenglund cut the ribbon together with the municipal board chairman Johan Andersson. Svenska Skogsplantor, a business area within Sveaskog, has in the past year invested SEK 12 million in Kilåmon's nursery outside Näsåker in Sollefteå municipality, Sweden.

Every year, Svenska Skogsplantor delivers approximately 52 million seedlings from Kilåmon's nursery to forestry in northern Sweden. Sveaskog has now invested SEK 12 million in the nursery with a focus on streamlining production. Above all, the investment has been made in new machines in the sowing and packing hall for faster handling and packaging of the plants.

The investment also leads to improved environmental work. Among other things, through a new washing plant that provides better cultivation hygiene and reduces the use of plant protection products and a new tank that reduces water consumption by up to 95 percent through the process water can be reused.

The new investments have also been made to further improve the working environment through increased safety around the machines, which have been shielded with protective equipment through the incorporation of moving machine parts.
