Compared to last October, the value of purchased roundwood from Slovenian private producers decreased by a third, according to the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia.
The value decreased mostly due to lower quantity of purchased wood. The value of purchased sawlogs and veneer logs was lower by almost a fifth; the most substantial was the decrease in the value of beech sawlogs. Significantly lower was the value of wood fuel (by 81.2%), pulpwood (by 59.7%) and other industrial roundwood (by 59.4%).
Compared to September, the total value of roundwood purchased from private owners decreased by 4.4%, of that the value of sawlogs and veneer logs by 3.7%. The value of purchased pulpwood was lower by 18.3%. On the other hand, the value of purchased wood fuel and other industrial roundwood increased due to higher quantity of purchased wood.
