UPM Fibres has concluded change negotiations involving its Finland Operations organization, which includes UPM Pulp, UPM Timber, and UPM Forest. These negotiations, initiated in October to improve efficiency and profitability, have resulted in the elimination of up to 88 positions. Around 1,600 employees were part of the review. In addition to the workforce reduction, agreements were reached for potential temporary layoffs at Finnish pulp mills and within UPM Timber, scheduled for staged implementation in the first half of 2025. These layoffs may last up to 90 days.
