Templeborough wood biomass power plant inaugurated in Rotherham, England

The Templeborough Biomass Power Plant in Rotherham, England, has been officially inaugurated by His Royal Highness The Duke of York, KG.

The power plant first generated electricity to the national grid at the end of last summer, exporting just over 41MW of green electricity which is enough to supply 78,000 homes (around half the population of Rotherham) and save over 150,000 tons of CO2 every year. The plant generates clean, green energy using waste wood as a fuel and so is great for the environment.

Templeborough Biomass Power Plant is located in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, and will export over 41MW of clean, green energy using waste wood as a fuel and so is great for the environment.

Templeborough Biomass Power Plant Ltd. was established to develop, construct and maintain the biomass power plant, which is managed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), a Danish fund management company specialised in offering tailor-made investments in contracted long-term energy infrastructure assets.
