Sveaskog raises timber prices

Demand for wood products, pulp, paper and cardboard remains strong in Sweden and the rest of the world. The sawmills and the rest of the forest industry have a great need for raw materials. Therefore, prices are now being raised for Sveaskog's timber suppliers throughout the country, for both timber and pulpwood.

In Norr- and Västerbotten, the purchase price of timber is adjusted upwards by SEK 30/m3fub and in southern Norrland and Central Sweden by SEK 25-40/m3fub from 31 March. In Götaland, the increase is SEK 30/m3fub.

The pulpwood price of conifers, spruce (where it is sorted out) and leaves is increased by SEK 20-40/m3fub depending on the range and geography.

“The price increase contributes to continuing to improve the profitability of forestry, for both small and large forest owners, and motivates high activity in the forest with both rejuvenation felling and thinning,” says Roger Johansson, marketing manager for Sveaskog's market area South.

Sveaskog is Sweden’s leading forestry company and sells timber, pulpwood, biofuel, seedlings and forestry services.
