SVEZA Group acquires plywood producer Fankom

Apr 16, 2012. /Lesprom Network/. SVEZA Group completed acquisition of plywood manufacturer Fankom (located in the village of Verkhnyaya Sinyachikha, Sverdlovsk Region, Russia). Aggregate capacities of Sveza Group will achieve 900,000 cubic metres of plywood and 300,000 cubic metres of particle board per year, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network. Fankom is a modern high-capacity enterprise manufacturing up to 180,000 cubic metres of birch and coniferous plywood per year, employing 1850 people. The product line of Fankom includes a number of birch plywood sizes which are new to SVEZA Group, as well as softwood plywood which has never been manufactured before by Sveza Group. Acquisition of Fankom will help SVEZA Group to improve service level provided to customers from different segments. “The strong professional team of ZAO “Fankom” and ample wood resources of Sverdlovsk Region offer great opportunities for development of wood-based panels production, that is why SVEZA Group is planning to undertake additional investments in this new plywood mill,” Viacheslav Zavgorodniy, Business Development Director of Sveza Group, has commented on that deal.
