On 1st November 2019, Metsä Wood is opening a new terminal in Ipswich, Suffolk, UK for landed joinery sales. The terminal will be home to comprehensive sawn joinery stock levels, with more shipments planned to ensure long-term consistency and reliability for joinery sales, as the company says in the press release received by Lesprom Network.
Currently, the majority of Metsä Wood UK’s joinery sales are delivered or collected direct from the port at Seaham, but operating from two hubs will see a significant increase in availability. From November onwards, both stock locations will be capable of nationwide delivery.
Both joinery terminals are also available to support increasing direct joinery sales to the UK and Ireland from Metsä Fibre sawmills in Finland and Russia.
