The Malaysian Timber Council (MTC) has named Muhtar Suhaili as its new CEO. He fills a position previously held by acting CEO Wong Kah Cane.

Malaysian Timber Council names Muhtar Suhaili  as new CEO

The Malaysian Timber Council (MTC) has named Muhtar Suhaili as its new CEO. He fills a position previously held by acting CEO Wong Kah Cane.

Before joining the MTC, Suhaili was the lead project engineer in Shell Malaysia where he worked for 15 years. Before that he worked for Perodua Auto Corporation Sdn Bhd. He also is chairman of the Malaysian Palm Oil Certication Council.

The MTC said he has extensive knowledge in managing mega projects, business planning, business improvement initiatives, manpower planning and human resource development. He also has experience in managing engineering design oces, having also worked in the Netherlands and Germany.

Formed in January 1992, the MTC promotes the development and growth of the Malaysian timber industry globally.
