Plywood export value from Brazil to U.S. fell 23.0% to $50.9 million due to the low average price that declined 12.7% to $302 per m3. While the average price for plywood from China expanded 13.4% to $800 per m3.
Canada decreased 6.25% of plywood exports to U.S. to 151.8 thousand m3 with export value dropped 4.74% to $80.5 million. U.S. imports from Indonesia fell 25.0% to 102.5 thousand m3 with import value declined 16.2% to $72.5 million. Imports from Chile decreased 13.2% to 95.5 thousand m3 with import value slided 4.97% to $42.9 million. Russian exports to U.S. dropped 2.63% to 91.3 thousand m3 with export value expanded 11.7% to $45.8 million.
Among the main exporters of plywood to U.S., only Vietnam showed a growth. Plywood imports to U.S. from Vietnam soared 199.0% to 113.3 thousand m3 with import value jumped 153.6% to $70.4 million.
In the first three months of 2019, the total U.S. plywood imports fell 19.7% to 1.08 million m3 with import value declined 19.2% to $624.0 million.
