Binderholz puts into operation new sawing line in Baruth, Germany In December 2021, the first log was processed on the new line. After a two-month commissioning and optimisation period, the sawing line was handed over to Production in March.
It replaces an old line from 1994. Furthermore, binderholz modernised the entire technical infrastructure in the course of installation. A new electrical supply line installed by e_dis supplies the new line with sufficient power.
This latest major investment of around Euro 38 million makes the binderholz location in Baruth one of the top 5 sawmill sites in Europe.
The line combines everything that state-of-the-art sawing technology has to offer and is highly flexible. It is able to cut logs from 2.50 m to 5 m in length and 110 mm to 550 mm in diameter. Technical refinements, such as a cross-cut saw and laser-assisted optical log measurement with automatic cutting pattern adjustment, ensure added value and careful handling of the raw material wood.
