Bergs, through its subsidiary Bitus, agrees to sell its pellet business in Fågelfors, Sweden, to J. Rettenmaier & Söhne (JRS), company announced.

The pellet business in Fågelfors, Högsby municipality, employs about 15 people. JRS will acquire all related assets and offer continued employment to all current employees. JRS, a German company with 4,000 employees and operations at over 90 locations globally, specializes in cellulose-based products and technical application support.

Peter Nilsson, CEO of Bergs, stated, "Bergs focuses on increased processing and sees no synergies between Fågelfors and other operations. We are pleased that JRS is acquiring the business."

Nils Gersonde, Group CFO of JRS, added, "JRS has seen significant growth in wood fiber products. We are delighted to see the Fågelfors operations joining JRS, enabling new growth opportunities."

The transaction is expected to be completed this summer. Bitus operations in wood protection in Nybro remain unaffected.
