Bergs Group's 3Q sales decreased by 16%

During the 3Q, the Bergs Group was affected by the deteriorating economic situation. Net sales amounted to SEK 708 million ($64.9 million) compared to SEK 846 million ($77.6 million) in the same period last year. The lower net sales were mainly explained by lower prices and lower sales volumes for Wood Protection.

EBITDA decreased to SEK 46 million ($4.2 million), which corresponds to an EBITDA margin of 6.5%. The lower result was explained by lower sales volumes and sales prices for Wood Protection and lower sales prices and higher raw material costs for Sawn Wood. Higher sales prices and sales volumes for the pellet business contributed positively.

Operating profit amounted to SEK 23 million ($2.1 million), which corresponds to an operating margin of 3.2%.

Net sales for the first nine months of 2022 amounted to SEK 2,627 million ($241 million), compared to SEK 2,265 million ($208 million) in January-September 2021. The increase of SEK 362 million ($33.2 million), corresponding to 16%, is attributable to higher sales prices for all products and higher sales volumes in Joinery.

EBITDA decreased to SEK 301 million ($27.6 million), which corresponds to an EBITDA margin of 11.5%. Operating profit amounted to SEK 235 million ($21.5 million), which corresponds to an operating margin of 8.9%.
